Brandon and I woke up to about 2 inches of snow that had fallen on the ground. We were both surprised because we were told that we wouldn't see snow here until about January and that expected snowfall is approx. twice a year. The wind was blowing and it was obviously very cold. Then we got a phone call indicating that church had been cancelled because of the hazardous conditions. So we spent the day driving around in a winter wonderland and the beautiful scenery of fir trees frosted with snow. Plow trucks get to the freeway, but not even the main streets in town. It was a little slick out there but overall, people were very careful. We enjoyed seeing the spectacle of Christmas lights at James St. Estates and would recommend them to anyone wanting to enjoy some lights. At the end of the day, Shalise and Jason stopped by with sugar cookies and a beautifully painted sign that read "Joy," which we hung up right away (after we ate some cookies). We were grateful for their thoughtfulness and happy to have some Christmas visitors.

Last night we received a foot of snow. But the sun came out Sunday morning and the newly fallen snow just looked so beautiful. It was the first big snow storm of the season. It's beginning to look like Christmas around here. Christine, Ryan and the kids came over and we began the Christmas story in the Bible. It is fun that Jess and Chris want to participate.
Come from Utah, when we first moved to Washington I thought that was the weirdest thing ever, cancelling school/church due to 2 inches of snow! I never complained about missing school though :) I love it when it snows up there, all the evergreens frosted with white is one of the most gorgeous sights in the world!
We had a foot of snow... we still had church.
Hey I heard that it was going to snow tonight or tomorrow. So here we go again. When are you guys going to utah?
