Happy Holidays!

Brandon and I enjoyed our quiet Thanksgiving Day. We started out by watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, followed by some football. This morning, I couldn't believe that our turkey wasn't thoroughly thawed out after thawing in the fridge for approximately 2 days! So, I called Jackie in a panic and she walked me through it. I thought that dinner would tank, but we sailed through it with no tears and it actually tasted pretty good thanks to my mom, Jackie, Jenni, and Brandon. I felt like a champ, but next time I make a turkey, I want to buy it fresh not frozen. Before dinner, Brandon and I took some time to share some of the things we were most thankful for followed by a prayer in which we remembered all of our family on this special day and then we ate to our fill and realized that we prepared enough food to take us well into next week. I love how Brandon put the lights on our tree; it looks brighter than it has to me in past years. We also strung some lights on our back patio. We ended our day by starting Season 5 of "24" and eating a terrible store-bought pumpkin pie that was so bad, I couldn't finish it. We loved the "V Chocolate" that my mom sent us as well as the "Twisted Peppermint" lotion and soap from Bath and Body Works. Overall, Brandon is feeling pretty good considering he recently had surgery. There is still some swelling and discomfort but he hopes to be back in shape by next week.

Sounds like a pretty great first Thanksgiving. We had fun with the Stephen's family. The food turned out so good. Grandpa and Grandma worked there heads off. And so did Sherry and Don. Sherry decorated it so cute. It was fun to admire all the babies. Jake didn't eat one morsel, maybe the butter off his roll. Aunt Jackie gave me the such a pretty wrapped present for Christmas. And the highlight was that Stephen and Brynn came over and let me hold Giselle for a moment or two. Today Jackie and I went over to Christine's and watched the Panda Kung Fu movie with the kids. And Jess and Jackie and Christine practiced the song they sang for Christoper's baptism, but now they are going to sing it in sacrament meeting. We hope to see Australia before Jackie has to go back to school. Your Christmas tree is beautiful. I wish mine was done.
