My sister-in-law Jenni first told me that I should get some eco-friendly, reusable grocery bags because they are the best. I just thought that I wouldn't be able to make the change and I didn't get any. Then, my friend Raquel told me the same thing and explained to me how wasteful plastic, grocery bags can be and also about animals that accidentally mistake the plastic bags for their lunch. That really hit home to me because it reminded me of the last time I ate fast food and thought my hamburger definitely tasted more like Styrofoam than hamburger; I wouldn't wish that on anyone, human or animal. I found these great cloth bags at Edaleen Dairy for 95 cents each. I bought 6! They are large bags and I noticed it was a lot easier to pack and carry them around than the plastic ones; they didn't spill the groceries in my trunk and they kept the groceries upright within the bags. Also, every time I shop at Edaleen Dairy in Lynden, they will give me 10 cents credit toward my purchase per blue bag! I thought that was a deal! I bought all these fresh, local dairy products for only $40. I have heard some great things about Edaleen ice cream and I was delighted when I tried their "Raspberry Cheesecake" flavor; it was delicious! They even sell Maberry Berries. I bought some frozen raspberries and cannot wait to make some yummy, yogurt and raspberry shakes.

i can't tell you how jealous i am that you got edaleen ice cream. it is sooooo amazing... i never think of it when i am in lynden though, so i have to just continue to be jealous of you! i hope you are having a great st. patrick's day!
Yay! You did it! I like the blue... very pretty. I'm so happy to hear that you took the plunge and that you are happy with your purchase! They are so worth it. The animals and mother nature are thanking you!
We have been using the "green bags" too and I am loving them (at least when I remember to bring them into the grocery store :) They hold way more than regular bags and definately make for less trips when you're bringing in all the groceries.
