We Will Think of You

Brandon spent the last few days in Utah visiting family and attending the viewing and funeral for our sister-in-law, Jen. I really wished I could have gone, but with Gloria being so young we decided it was better for me to stay with her at home. But Brandon called me every night and we talked about all that happened during the day. I have spent a couple hours every day for the last few days thinking, writing, and reading about Jen. It is nice what her friends have written about her on Facebook (see "Jen's Crew") and blogger. Brandon told me some of the nice things that happened. It was really wonderful that so many family and friends, and even co-workers came to support Ryan and Jen and both their families at Jen's viewing and funeral May 7-8. Jen's dad, Dean gave a really beautiful family prayer that emphasized how grateful the family was for all that Jen got to live and experience, that she was able to get a good education, marry in the temple, become a mother, and also how grateful her family and friends were for all the time they got to enjoy her. Brandon and I talked a little bit last night about her. I told him that I really will miss her and that I wish I could have more time with her because it would be really fun to be her sister-in-law, especially now that I have a baby too and we could share stories and swap tips. Jen is so much fun and I look forward to seeing her again and talking about our families and the memories we shared. Both Ryan and Brandon appreciated my sisters and their families for being there. Brandon thought that Tiffany did a really great job helping out with the displays and Brandon's mom Lynne was very appreciative of the pictures that Tiffany gave her of our baby Gloria. She said it was an unexpected and very thoughtful surprise. Brandon gave me a beautiful book about mothers for Mother's Day and included a nice picture of Jen for us to always remember her. We prayed that Jen would know that even though she is separated from us, we still love her as if she were here and we will always think of her and appreciate her example of courage and her fun personality. Love ya girl.
